About NYTeachers

Whenever I sit down with my teacher friends over drinks, coffee or a meal, we wind up talking about a wide range of topics: schools, testing, new requirements, politics, the latest movies that our students are watching, our students’ use of the Internet, what’s happening with education in the various countries that we are connected with, etc.

These have been very important conversations for me as a teacher of teachers-to-be in the School of Education at Long Island University, as they connect me with the perspectives of educators who are curious and concerned about the world, and help me articulate my own perspectives.

This blog seeks to continue these conversations with my students at Long Island University. My pre-service and in-service students will be blogging about issues that concern them and which connect to the two classes that I teach, “Curriculum Development for Teachers” and “Social Foundations of Education”.

Please feel free to join this community of teaching professionals by commenting on the postings here.
